Puppy Club

A Calm, Positive Start to Grooming for Life

Our Puppy Club has been thoughtfully designed to give puppies the best possible introduction to professional grooming — laying calm, confident foundations that will support them throughout their life.

The programme consists of three structured sessions with our Head Groomer, ideally spaced 2–3 weeks apart. Each visit is tailored to your puppy’s individual stage of development, ensuring they feel safe, supported and never rushed.

Our goal isn’t simply to groom — it’s to teach puppies how to feel comfortable with grooming.

A Different Approach — Because Foundations Matter

What makes our Puppy Club different is our integrated approach.

Alongside introducing grooming processes, we also incorporate training and behavioural techniques to help puppies:

• Build confidence and trust

• Remain calm and relaxed during handling

• Develop positive associations with grooming equipment and environments

• Learn cooperative behaviours that make grooming a positive experience

Many dogs struggle with grooming later in life because these foundations weren’t established early. Being placed with a stranger, surrounded by unfamiliar noises, and handled in ways they don’t yet understand can be overwhelming. Without the right introduction, fear can easily develop.

Since opening in 2023, we have set clear standards around puppy grooming, prioritising welfare, understanding and emotional wellbeing. This approach has consistently produced exceptional long-term results, creating dogs who are far more comfortable, cooperative and confident as they mature.

What Each Puppy Club Session Focuses On

Every puppy progresses at their own pace, but sessions typically include:

• Gentle desensitisation to the grooming environment, sounds and equipment

• Confidence and trust building through calm, positive handling

• Introduction to coat preparation based on future grooming requirements

• Development of cooperative care behaviours

• Guidance and advice for owners to continue these foundations at home

Each session builds upon the last, allowing your puppy to feel familiar, secure and confident every step of the way.

When Is a Full Groom Appropriate?

While some puppies may be ready for a full groom by or during their third session, it’s important to understand that a full groom is not appropriate during the first visit.

Professional grooming equipment and unfamiliar procedures can be overwhelming for young puppies. Rushing this process can impact both safety and long-term behaviour. Our focus is always on your puppy’s emotional wellbeing and future confidence, rather than achieving a full groom as quickly as possible.

By allowing puppies the time they need to learn and adjust, we create far better outcomes — not just for now, but for every groom in the future.
