Serious about grooming, slightly obsessed with dogs!
Welcome to The Canine Parlour, our independent dog and cat grooming salon in Hanwell, Ealing.
We’re professional groomers, animal lovers, perfectionists, treat-givers, professional dog negotiators and, occasionally, singers of completely made-up songs to dogs in the bath.
But underneath the fun, we take what we do very seriously.
Our salon has been built around exceptional grooming, high standards of welfare and something we think is incredibly important; actually knowing the animals in our care.
We don’t want your pet to simply be another name in the diary.
We want to know them.
OUR APPROACH TO GROOMING
Individual pets deserve individual care.
No two pets walk through our doors exactly the same.
Some march straight in like they own the place. Some need a cuddle. Some need space. Some need approximately 14 treats and a lengthy negotiation before they’ll consider giving us a paw.
And that’s absolutely fine with us.
We take the time to understand the animal standing in front of us and adapt the grooming experience accordingly.
That means learning their body language, their likes and dislikes, what makes them uncomfortable and what helps them feel secure.
Our approach is based around patience, skilled handling, consistency and trust — not simply getting through an appointment as quickly as possible.
Because a beautiful groom matters.
But how your pet experiences it matters just as much.
WE KNOW OUR CLIENTS INSIDE OUT
And that’s exactly how we like it.
We’re not trying to build the biggest grooming database in West London.
We’d much rather have a community of regular clients whose pets we genuinely know.
We know who hates their nails.
Who needs to inspect absolutely everything before getting on the table.
Who secretly loves the dryer despite pretending otherwise.
Who needs a little extra reassurance.
And, of course, who knows precisely where we keep the treats.
Regular grooming isn’t just good for maintaining your pet’s coat. It allows them to become familiar with us, the salon and their routine.
Familiarity builds confidence. Confidence builds trust. And trust can completely change a pet’s experience of grooming.
That’s why we encourage our clients to maintain regular grooming schedules rather than simply visiting when their pet desperately needs a haircut.

This isn’t a slogan we stick on the website because it sounds nice.
It’s how we make decisions.
If a pet needs more time, we give them more time.
If something isn’t working, we change our approach.
If continuing isn’t in their best interests, we stop.
And if what an owner wants isn’t appropriate for their pet’s coat, condition or welfare, we’ll explain why and recommend an alternative.
Sometimes the kindest groom isn’t the prettiest groom.
We will always choose welfare over vanity.
A SALON WITH

We’re incredibly proud
of our professional standards.
But The Canine Parlour has never been particularly good at being stuffy.
You’ll probably hear us laughing, a lot.
You’ll almost certainly hear us talking to the dogs like they’re people.
You may find someone sitting on the floor making friends with a nervous dog, or joining in with zoomies, and our cupboards are always full of treats.
And there’s a reasonable chance your pet has a nickname here that you don’t know about.
We want our salon to feel professional without ever feeling clinical.
Warm, bubbly, slightly bonkers and full of people who genuinely love what they do.
